Undergraduate Programme

The undergraduate programme in General Linguistics permits students to combine in a single field a variety of Arts and Social Science subjects and to develop their analytic skills in depth. Students are encouraged to explore with members of staff the many relationships of linguistics with other fields in order to discover the programme that best suits their individual goals and interests.

The society was founded in 1998, one year after the establishment of Linguistics Department, by a group of enthusiastic and insightful students bearing the zeal of serving their fellows. With the relentless effort of ten previous generations of executive committee members, numerous successful academic activities were organized.The purposes and aims of our society are as follows:

  • To promote the complete organization and unity within the Society.
  • To promote the general welfare of the members.
  • To promote the better understanding among members and the teaching staff of the Department.
