Congratulations to our very own MPhil student Bingzi Yu (2021 HKU BA Linguistics ) who will join the PhD program at the MIT this fall. She has been working on phonological learning, and would like to pursue that direction of research during her PhD.

Our MPhil graduate, Mr. Cheung Ching Yat Lewis, has been offered a PhD scholarship at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, Nijmegen. He will work with Limor Raviv, an up-and-coming scholar working in the fields of language evolution, cultural evolution and language diversity. Congratulations!

Dr. Christophe Coupe has recently published a paper titled "Different languages, similar encoding efficiency: comparable information rates across the human communicative niche" in Science Advances (https://advances.sciencemag.org/content/5/9/eaaw2594).
